The museum holds important sculptures and decorative pieces removed from their original positions at the interior and exterior of the Duomo, the Baptistry, and Bell Tower. Artifacts and architectural models from the second and third century AD, up to Giotto, Brunelleschi, Andrea Pisano, Lorenzo Ghiberti, Michelangelo and more.

The remains of the most ancient cathedral of Florence (5th century). Roman and Paleochristian relics, sculptures and fresco fragments. The tomb of Brunelleschi, 1446, was found here.
